NVIDIA 8800 Ultra graphics cards have been available for some weeks now, but haven't had the chance to see many watercooled designs. Leadtek is ready to prove that watercooled 8800 Ultra cards can make a big difference and launches the Winfast PX8800 Ultra-Leviathan edition.

According to Leadtek, the new version integrates extreme functions and an advanced water cooling system, which is exclusively designed for unparalleled SLI performance. Unlike WinFast PX8800 ULTRA, PX8800 ULTRA - Leviathan features a fully-sealed water cooling module with long-time coolant design for a maintenance-free experience. The water cooling module integrates a 120 x120 x25 mm radiator, designed to operate at less than 30dB. The watercooling module is made of aluminum alloy cold plate and copper water block. Leadtek ensures that the watercooling design is ready to deliver outstanding performance under any extreme overcocking conditions.

The reference board specifications have been cranked up to 684/2322MHz (core/memory) and WinFast PX8800 ULTRA - Leviathan comes with 768MB/384 bit GDDR3 memory to provide superior frame rates and image quality. The watercooled model is said to maximize the existing GigaThread technology that supports thousands of independent, simultaneous threads.

Unlike ATI's HD 2900 XT, the Leviathan version really supports HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) output, being capable of transmitting and receiving digital entertainment content to DVI or HDMI interfaces. This is where NVIDIA's PureVideo HD technology shows its teeth, the Leviathan thus offering an advanced HD DVD and Blu-ray movie experience for desktop computers. In this sense, the card integrates Dual Dual-Link DVI ports and HDTV in/out.

WinFast PX8800 ULTRA - Leviathan is also compatible with Microsoft Windows Vista to give an altogether new dimension to the Windows Aero 3D graphical user interface. The card comes bundled with two games: SperllForce2 and JTF.

Leadtek invites all their fans at Computex Taipei 2007 in Hall 1, A726, where the Leviathan and its entire G80 lineup will be on display.
