Lea Michele lost the love of her life earlier this year when her longtime boyfriend and “Glee” co-star Cory Monteith died at the age of 31 of a drug and alcohol OD in a hotel room, all alone, but she’s determined to pick up what’s left of her life and move on. Music will offer her solace, she says in a new interview.

Promoting her upcoming album, Lea reveals to Elle Magazine that she included a song dedicated to Cory on it because it just felt the right thing to do. The decision was a spur-of-the-moment type of thing but she’s happy she made it.

“The album was done, and the label said, ‘Do you want to add anything?’ I was like, ‘I might regret it if I don't’,” Lea tells the publication. So, she included “You’re Mine” on the album, a song inspired by her and Cory’s first days of romance.

“It makes me so happy, this song. It makes me think so much of Cory. It was ours. When I think of him, I play this,” Lea tells the magazine. Now, his fans too will have something more to remember him by, when Lea’s album comes out.

In the same interview, the actress says she’s determined to continue working because that’s the only way she can think of right now to forget about her devastating loss. Also on the topic, the actress and singer reveals Kate Hudson, a regular on “Glee,” helped her considerably in the days right after Cory’s death.

Kate offered her a place to hide while she came to terms with her loss, Lea reveals. At the same time, she offered her shelter from the ever-intrusive media and a shoulder to cry on.

“I called her and said, I don't know where I'm going to go because my house is swarmed [with reporters]. She was like, ‘Oh, you're going to stay at my house.’ Like it was nothing. She let my family stay there, and any of my friends. She made sure that in the refrigerator were my favorite juices. I'll never really be able to thank her, truly, for what she did for me,” the star tells Elle.
