14 DAY TRIAL // LeAnn Rimes has a new album to promote, “Spitfire,” which means she’s opening up to the media on topics she would otherwise keep mum on, such as her relationship with her husband Eddie Cibrian, her family, and her desire to have children.
Just the other day, LeAnn was saying that she felt “depressed” and “anxious” in the aftermath of the scandal that brought her and Eddie together (they embarked on an affair while still married to their exes), so she had to go to rehab.
To People magazine, LeAnn says she’s long past that stage, so she’s looking forward to having her own kids with Eddie, who has two boys with ex Brandi Glanville.
Rimes calls the boys her “bonus sons” and she is a “bonus mom” but, as she puts it, she’s ready to become a mom herself.
“We have a lot on our plates. But whenever I talk about kids, I’m like, ‘Let’s have one!’ I have a lot of work to do now but I’m totally ready if it happens,” she explains
She might have fertility issues, if her mother’s situation is anything to go by but, should this happen, Rimes and Cibrian will probably adopt.
“It took my mom 12 years to have me. I hope I don’t have that [issue] but if I do, then a surrogate is something I’ve thought about. Eddie and I have also talked about adopting. My capacity to love a child doesn’t stop at my own eggs, obviously!” the singer says.
“Now I feel settled. I’m proud of our great family. Eddie is an amazing father and I love my stepsons. Testosterone is all around here so I need a little girl!” she adds.
As we also noted the day before yesterday, LeAnn says that “Spitfire” is her most personal record to date because it was like therapy for her to write music about cheating and then starting a family with the man she cheated with, Eddie.
