Starring in the “Law and Order” TV series as a cop, Richard Belzer happened to get on the wrong side of the law, in real life, as an employer at a Manhattan Apple store called the cops saying the star attacked her, the Daily News relates upon the police’s source report.

The newspaper cites Milan Agnew, age 21, the declaration notes. She affirms that the 65-year-old actor entered the Upper West Side store, on March 10, grabbed her by the shoulders, shook her, choked her and barked, "I need help!" Agnew, a recent graduate of the Marymouth Manhattan College, has filed a harassment complaint with the NYPD, the Daily News notes. The actor was questioned by the cops and was not charged with a crime.

On the other hand, Belzer maintains that the girl’s declaration is pure fiction, released in order to "embarrass a famous person. The sad part of it was that police officers were called and had to report to the scene and God knows we don't need all that manpower wasted on a trivial accusation that was clearly done either for attention or to embarrass a famous person," as the New York Post says upon contacting Belzer for a reply on this subject.

Belzer, who plays Sgt. John Munch on the TV show, is further quoted by the New York Post as saying, "She wanted attention and she knew who I was and I clearly didn't assault her." "It's surprising that Apple would not apologize to such a high-profile, good customer. I've spent thousands of dollars there. I don't want her to be fired, I just want her to seek help."

But Agnew insists that things are pointing out to Belzer’s harassment guilt, as the newspaper site also cites her statement, "I'm not star struck by anyone," Agnew declared. "I approached him like he was a regular customer. I asked how can I help you. He told me what he needed, and then before I was able to speak again, he lunges in and grabs my neck. It was no gentle manner. There is no gentle manner to grab someone's neck."

The Daily News also posted the statement of a witness, Jonathan Fox, age 37, saying, "If it was one of us, we'd be locked up right now," who was truly surprised that Richard Belzer was allowed to walk free without being brought any charges. Richard Belzer was one of the several invited celebrities who appeared at the grand opening of the Upper West Side store last November, according to ifoAppleStore.
