Regional handset manufacturer LAVA, one of the fastest growing brands in India, has just announced its partnership with MTV to offer the Lava A16 feature-phone.

According to the handset maker, the phone will soon be available across all major retail outlets in India for prices ranging between Rs 4,000 (75 USD or 57 EUR) and 4,500 (85 USD or 65 EUR).

Lava A16 is aimed at youngsters and fashionistas and features a classy look that can easily turn it into a stylish fashion accessory.

The phone is crafted with premium and complex design elements. It has catchy back cover with soft shapes for easy handling, as well as an animated Graphical User Interface (GUI) with various wallpapers and themes that allows users to personalize their phones to match their life style.

Specs-wise, Lava A16 sports a mediocre 3.2-megapixel rear camera with LOMO and a small 2.6-inch IPS high resolution display.

Furthermore, Lava also included the Yamaha PA system, along with live wallpapers and themes that are meant to improve the users’ multimedia experience. In this regard, the A16 comes with earphones that feature SRS WOW HD experience and dedicated controls, allowing for easier control of the music without having to pull the phone out.

A modern phone cannot lack deep social networking integration, which is why Lava A16 is Facebook ready, allowing users to stay connected with their friends and family.

Consumers are a fragmented lot, either they are considered to be tech-leaders / tech-savvy users or they primarily use their phones to stay connected and look good while doing so. We felt there was a definite gap in the market for mobile phones that cater to both ends of this scale. And this prompted us to launch Lava A16 that combines elegance and technology,” said Mr.S. N. Rai, director, Lava International Ltd.
