Lava Mobiles plans to launch two Android phones within the next few days, an X-series phone and a Q-series one.

The latter is dubbed XOLO Q800 and will be officially introduced in India on March 11, AndroidOS reports.

The smartphone has already appeared at various major retailers, including Flipkart, though no price tags have been attached to it yet.

However, some of the phone’s specs have been revealed, so we now know it will ship with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box.

Hardware-wise, the smartphone will also be equipped with a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and a PowerVR SGX544 graphics processing unit.

XOLO Q800 packs 1GB of RAM, but only 4GB of internal memory. Fortunately, users will be able to further expand storage up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

Another strong point of the handset is the 8-megaixel rear photo snapper, which features autofocus, LED flash and video recording. There’s also a secondary 1.2-megapixel camera for video calls.

Lava Mobiles opted for a 4.5-inch IPS LCD qHD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution.

Indian customers will probably be disappointed to know the XOLO Q800 does not come with dual-SIM capability.

Anyway, the smartphone offers lots of other connectivity options, including HSDPA (21Mbps), HSUPA (5.76Mbps), Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and microUSB.

Lava XOLO Q800 is powered by a 2100 mAh Li-Ion battery, which is rated by the manufacturer for up to 360 hours of standby time or up to 16 hours of talk time (10 hours of 3G mode).

Although the smartphone has been confirmed for a March 11 launch, there’s no official word on the phone’s pricing options yet.

Still, rumor has it Lava XOLO Q800 will be available for purchase for around Rs 12,000 outright, which is about $220 or €170. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
