Good news for Android enthusiasts in India, as native OEM Lava Mobiles has just announced the immediate availability of yet another mid-range smartphone, the Magnum X604.

Lava Mobiles also confirmed that it had partnered with Indian major retailer Snapdeal to exclusively offer the Magnum X604 smartphone to those who can afford it.

The new smartphone is now available for purchase at Snapdeal for Rs 11,999 ($200 / €145) outright, which is a pretty decent price for a device with its specs sheet.

The Magnum X604 is available in both black and white color options. According to Snapdeal, all orders are dispatched in 2 business days, which means the smartphone is already in stock.

“With the launch of LAVA Magnum X604 our endeavor was to multiply consumer’s experience with its big screen size and high-performance features while being highly pocket-friendly and portable. The Magnum X604 is a perfect companion for consumers who want to stay connected and experience the best of both smartphones and tablets in one device,” said S.N Rai, Co – founder & director, Lava International Ltd.

Lava Magnum X604 comes with a huge 6-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution, which is why it can easily be put in the phablets category.

Apart from the large display, the mid-range phone also comes with a decent enough 1.2GHz quad-core Broadcom processor, which is complemented by a Videocore IV graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

Furthermore, the smartphone offers dual-SIM capability with dual standby support, as well as FM Radio and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

Speaking of which, Lava Magnum X604 packs only 8GB of internal memory, but thanks to the microSD card slot, users will be able to expand storage.

Another selling point of Lava’s mid-range smartphone would be the enhanced 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash, BSI sensor and full HD (1080p) video recording. There’s also a secondary 2-megapixel camera in the front for video calls and selfies.

When it comes to connectivity, the Magnum X604 offers the standard package, including 3G, Bluetooth, microUSB and GPS with A-GPS support. Last but not least, Lava’s handset is powered by a 2600 mAh battery, which has yet to be rated by the Indian OEM.

Lava Magnum X604 is a large (163.3x84mm), but sleek (8.9mm) smartphone. The phone weighs 207g (battery included), which makes it rather heavy for a smartphone.
