Since USB flash drives can't exactly reach a very high variety in terms of performance, it falls to their portability and looks to make up the difference, so Silicon power decided to put special emphasis on its new units' design, using diamond flakes as a model.

The two flash drive storage units that Silicon power released are limited editions of the LuxMini 323 and Touch 852.

The LuxMini 323 measures 65.30 by 18.30 by 8.40 mm and boasts a piano lacquer finish. It also weighs only 9 grams, making it more than easy to carry.

This model can communicate with PCs via USB 2.0 ports, although it is still backwards compatible with connectors based on the older USB 1.1 standard.

“Simple fashion stripes on a piano lacquer finished surface shows off its luxurious diamond flake design,” the press release says.

“Standing in a crowd of flashy techno-gadgets, its simplicity and grace outshines all! Utilizing a unibody design, the glistering gold frames outlines a simple structure and in the midst of darkness, it gives an aura of elegance.”

The Touch 852 is a fair bit smaller, measuring 31.6 x 16.4 x 6 mm, while even sporting a retractable USB port.

This drive also has the benefits of being dust-proof, shockproof, waterproof and vibration-proof.

“The Silicon Power Touch852 is splendid and also robust. Considering ergonomics, the retractable USB port is user-friendly,” states the press release.

“Utilizing COB (Chip on Board) packaging process, Touch852 is waterproof, shockproof and dust-proof. It is the perfect gift or for personal use to store all personal, important and precious data,” the announcement added.

The Silicon Power Touch 852 and LuxMini 323 are backed by a lifetime warranty and are, of course, compatible with the Microsoft Windows 7 Operating System. Unfortunately, they have not been given prices yet.
