Apple's Leopard is one of the most awaited Mac OS X versions presented for the first time at the 2006 Worldwide Developers Conference and scheduled for the spring of the 2007. MacRumors made an interesting announcement, sustaining that several sources confirmed for the company that Apple prepares to launch Leopard in mid April but the shipping date will be mentioned at Adobe's Creative Suite 3, an event scheduled for late March. "While the sources are anonymous and cannot be confirmed at this time by other known and traditionally reliable means, agreement from such a variety of sources is rare. Still, Leopard's release has been prone to much hype and speculation, and we hesitate to place too much hope in such rumors (yet)," the company sustained.

On March 2, Apple released Mac OS X v10.5 Developer Preview (build 9A377a), a testing version of the upcoming major release, being downloaded by million of users from every corner of the world. Although it is much awaited, the testing version of the Leopard was quite disappointing because it was full of bugs and issues continuously criticized by the users. For example, the new user interface is regarded as a simple change of the theme that might force all the programs to work with it. That's why several incompatibilities might occur, making the upcoming release quite unstable.

At this time, all the users are waiting for a powerful and stable release but all the signs are predicting quite a buggy Leopard. Personally, I prefer to wait longer but use a more secure application than to obtain it immediately and be affected by numerous vulnerabilities. Usually, when a company decides to release a community preview of an application, the developing stages are more advanced, so I guess Apple really prepares a well-developed solution.
