Patch version 8.0.1 brings us a huge amount of changes and takes FM2008 closer to reality

SI Games, the creators of the well-known and highly appreciated franchise - Football Manager, have released a final patch to correct the remaining mishaps left in the game. Paying attention to all the user comments, suggestions and reports, SI Games released the patch for all available versions of the game.

While most people complained about the tactical positioning of the players, especially the defenders' incapability to mark the players and the overall failure of closing down tactics and orders, the developers give us much more than solutions to these problems. Actually, after reading the changelog, you immediately start to wonder if there were, indeed, so many things to fix in the game.

With its huge change log, this latest FM2008 patch resolves all the division-related problems the users found in every single country available in the game, weather issues, squad revamps, game reports and user interface tweaks. The most important changes are, however, those of the match engine, resolving the defenders' problems everybody complained about (now, defenders actually mark the players) as well as closing down and marking. Another nice one this patch brings us is the fact that we won't get to enjoy a goal for one minute before the offside is called. Now offsides get called quicker, and, overall, the dead times the player has to witness are reduced. Also, the crashes that occurred when user retired from the job screen or accepted a job from another time, are all fixed. As the game developers declared, this is the final patch. It would be a great thing to be this way, but because the game is perfect, not because the developers simply don't wish to improve any further. And knowing that SI Games cares about the development of its own games, the second option is clearly out of the question.

Again, the v8.0.1 patch and the entire change log are available for download HERE. Go get it and enjoy the game, together with the wonder kid Mika Aaritalo!
