Lana Del Rey is truly letting all her creative juices flow in writing: her latest video, for “Ride,” is based entirely on a script she wrote. Spanning 10 full minutes, it’s a beautiful blend of Lolita and Hell’s Angels.

Stylish and beautifully shot, the clip might be deemed offensive by some but, in the end, if it drives the message across, it probably doesn’t even matter.

Come to think of it, all of Lana’s videos are short films with a very strong message. For “Ride” that would be freedom at all costs, even if it goes against every norm society has ever imposed.

“I was going to be the other woman. I belonged to no one, but belonged to everyone... an obsession for freedom that terrified me to the point I couldn't even talk about it,” Lana says in the long intro to the video

“And pushed me to a nomadic point of madness that both dazzled and dizzied me,” she muses.

“Who are you? Are you in touch with your darkest fantasies? Have you created a life for yourself where you can experience them. I have. I am [expletive]-ing crazy, but I am free,” Lana says at the end of the video.
