Though the 5.25-inch external drive bays are usually employed for optical disk drives, they sometime become the home of other PC accessories, such as Lamptron's latest fan controller, which uses touch input to give end-users direct control over their spinners.

Nowadays, most cases have their very own fans, one, two or more, all of which are meant to, obviously, enhance the cooling prowess of the system itself.

The drawback, however, is that they can be the cause of a substantial amount of noise, giving end-users the desire to lower their rotary speeds.

Luckily for them, makers of computer accessories have been all over this issue for a while, their latest inventions having even been refined with the latest technologies.

Simply put, Lamptron has just completed, according to reports, its latest such device, one which uses a touch interface to control the various propellers.

The electronic measures 118 x 31.5 mm and completely lacks physical buttons, switches or knobs.

It has a total of six channels, each of which can supply 30 W, which essentially means that owners will be able to directly control six fans.

All in all, the newcomer should allow purchasers to tone down the speed of their internal cooling solutions when trying to enjoy multimedia, or turn it up when playing graphically and compute-intensive games.

Other specifications include a CNC milled front panel with a black or silver color theme.

Unfortunately, the report which revealed this product did not provide any sort of information on its price.

Still, since it will supposedly make it to market in time for the holiday season, this final detail should not take too long in finally being unraveled.

Until then, those interested need only set up a desktop with enough fans for Lampton's invention to be of any use, unless they already have on of course.
