Lamar Odom is looking forward to getting his life back on track, after a series of major setbacks in the previous year, including severe addiction allegations, a messy divorce, and way more media attention for both than he could have ever asked for.

While there’s still talk that his addiction to crack cocaine took over his life for almost 2 whole years, costing him his marriage and his NBA career, it turns out that Odom has been busy negotiating his next contract.

Sports Illustrated reports that it is with a Spanish team and will span 2 months.

“The former NBA star has agreed to sign a two-month contract with Spanish team Baskonia, according to the club. Odom hasn’t played professional basketball since completing the 2012-13 season with the Los Angeles Clippers,” the publication says.

“Odom, 34, and the club have been in talks for some time. The new deal also includes an option to extend the contract until the end of Baskonia’s season. The 6-foot-10 forward is expected to travel to Spain this week and possibly make his debut on Saturday,” adds the same media outlet.

“Baskonia is in ninth place in the 18-team Spanish League and last in its Euroleague group. The club has featured several well-known NBA players over the years,” Sports Illustrated further says.

Odom is still hoping to return to the NBA though, if he does, he should probably brace himself for suspension because, after the August DUI arrest, he pleaded no contest to the charge of driving under the influence and is now on 3-year probation.

Other players also got suspended when they pleaded no contest to DUI.

Even though he denied he was addicted to drugs or that he had any kind of abuse problem at all, word has it that Odom has been struggling with an addiction to crack cocaine for almost 2 years. It is said that it was his refusal to seek help that finally ruined his marriage to Khloe Kardashian, who repeatedly tried to pressure him into going to rehab.
