Lady Gaga has long hinted that she was considering coming out with her own creations, which would allow her “little monsters” to dress at least half as outrageously as she does on a regular basis. Until that happens, though, word in the industry is that she’ll be focusing on coming out with her own line of sunglasses, which will go on sale through Linda Farrow, WWD says.

As of now, this is nothing but a rumor, with neither party involved being immediately available for comment the instant Women’s Wear Daily took this to the press. Still, if it does turn out to be true, the collaboration would be truly something worthy to see and wait for, given Linda Farrow’s longtime partnership with huge names in the industry of fashion and Gaga’s by-now well known taste for the extravagant. If we’re to judge by the shades she wore only in the past couple of weeks (including the “Telephone” video), one can form an opinion about the singer’s taste in this type of accessory.

“Gaga’s glasses? Lady Gaga is no stranger to outrageous eyewear – she even sports sunglasses fashioned from rows of lit cigarettes in the controversial video for her single ‘Telephone.’ And now, word is that the singer is planning to parlay her out-there ideas into her own line of sunglasses, and is said to be in talks with London label Linda Farrow about collaborating on designs,” WWD writes.

“If a collection does go ahead, it would be the latest in a series of collaborations for the 40-year-old label: Linda Farrow launched sunglasses designed by singer Róisín Murphy last month, and has created sunglasses for designers including Alexander Wang, Matthew Williamson and Dries Van Noten. A spokeswoman for Linda Farrow could not be reached for comment Wednesday,” the same fashion-oriented publication writes.

Ironically enough, in August last year, Roisin Murphy was accusing Gaga of stealing her style, as we also informed you. According to the Irish singer, she had met Gaga before she shot to fame and was terribly upset to see she had ripped off her image when she became known internationally. The shoulder pads, the gloves, the futuristic sunglasses and the refusal to wear pants were all things Murphy wore and incorporated into her look long before Gaga came on the scene, she claimed.
