Lady Gaga has been dating hottie Taylor Kinney for some time, even hinting on occasion that he could be “the one” to settle down with and start a family. According to one rumor making the rounds right now, she may already be on the way to doing that.

Lady Gaga is pregnant with her first child and she showed off her baby bump – and even patted it for the paparazzi to see – the other night, when she stepped out in a dress resembling the one on iconic cartoon character Jessica Rabbit.

Lady Gaga stepped out the other night in New York, wearing a body-hugging sequin dress that hung on every curve. Photos of the gown in question are included in the gallery below, but it was something that Gaga did that drew attention to the dress: she seemed to be patting her tummy for the cameras, which naturally led to talk about how she was “confirming” she was pregnant.

“Although she has yet to confirm if congratulations are in order, Gaga did appear to be sending an indication of impending motherhood as she placed a protective hand on her tummy,” British tabloid the Daily Star wrote in its latest print edition.

This started the rumor that Gaga was actually pregnant and that she had chosen this particular outing to confirm it. In showbiz, it’s not that uncommon for celebrities to let photos do all the talking, because they don’t feel comfortable having a publicist confirm the news to the media.

Fans – Gaga’s Little Monsters – were confused, because they assumed Gaga would tell them first if that were the case, and not confirm it to the paparazzi, out of all people.

Meanwhile, a source close to the singer tells Gossip Cop, a publication whose main goal is to refute false reports, that she is not pregnant, so if you were thinking of congratulating her and Taylor, you might want to wait some more before doing it.

This means that Gaga is probably carrying a bit of extra weight, which explains the so-called baby bump. As for “patting” it for the cameras, she probably didn’t even realize it, but that didn’t stop people from seeing in the pictures whatever they wanted to see.

The fact that she gained some weight and is already plagued by reports that she’s pregnant shows the kind of pressure female celebrities are under to stick to a type of figure deemed “perfect.” Whenever a “deviation” from it occurs, the people at home and the media assume that she must be pregnant, or else she wouldn’t have “let herself go.”

She later explained that it was because she had started spending more time at her father’s NYC restaurant, eating pizza and pasta to her heart’s content, but until she spoke out on the issue, she was subject to the nastiest kind of attention and remarks.
