She tweeted the other day that she couldn’t wait until her “little monsters” heard the first single off her brand new album – the wait is now over. Lady Gaga’s highly-anticipated “Born This Way” is out: and it’s a certified hit.

Today is #BornThisWayFriday, as any respectable Twitter-er must know: the day that Gaga offers fans a first taste of the album she said will revolutionize music in general and pop in particular.

Produced by Fernando Garibay, DJ White Shadow and Gaga, the song is a club anthem that Sir Elton John personally believes will outrank Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive.” Nay, it will “obliterate” it.

While critics’ take on the single is still pending, fans who have heard it are beyond ecstatic: it’s pop but with a soul, it’s dance music with a very clear message, it’s very Gaga in that it’s not what they were expecting, it’s certified to kill competition.

Fans on Twitter and dedicated forums are raving about it; in fact, so far, there’s not a single negative review of the track, though it will probably come in due time because Gaga’s music does tend to polarize opinions like that.

In other Gaga news, the singer is now on the cover of Vogue, just in time to promote the single and the album that comes out in May.

In the interview, the singer talks about her special relationship to her fans, why she can relate so easily to them, her incredible confidence and, of course, the upcoming studio material.

“Speaking purely from a musical standpoint, I think I am a great performer. I am a talented entertainer. I consider myself to have one of the greatest voices in the industry,” Gaga tells Vogue, as we also informed you the other day.

“I consider myself to be one of the greatest songwriters. I wouldn’t say that I am one of the greatest dancers, but I am really quite good at what I do. I think it’s OK to be confident in yourself,” she adds.

With this confidence, some very inspirational lyrics and a beat that’s bound to get you move your feet, without further ado: Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way.”
