14 DAY TRIAL // Lady Gaga has often said – and, so far, there’s no reason to doubt her – that she’d bleed for her fans and die for her music. Or something along these lines. However, Lady Gaga will also suffer for her fashion and that includes sustaining a few bruises, both to her newly svelte body and her ego, for her love of the rather ridiculous looking heel-less shoes she debuted almost a month and a half ago.
As E! Online puts it in a piece in its Fashion Police category, Lady Gaga became fashion roadkill the other day, when she tripped and fell to the ground because of the shoes in question, which, as a side note, it’s a wonder she’s been able to wear so far without incident. Dressed all in black leather and rocking her fiercest attitude to date, Gaga was strolling through Heathrow when she lost her footing and went down.
To her credit, she did not even blink – neither as she was hitting the ground, nor afterwards, as the countless pictures snapped on the occasion can surely confirm. “Talk about suffering for fashion. Yesterday, cameras caught Lady Gaga taking a spill as she teetered through London’s Heathrow airport in sky-high boots (to go with her leather chaps, bra and sheer top, natch.) Oof!” E! writes, mildly making light of the singer’s outfit.
“The ‘Poker Face’ singer and outlandish fashionista hadn’t met a crazy costume that she couldn’t work, but these Herman Munster shoes finally got the best of her. Fortunately, she wasn’t injured in the fall. But maybe it’s a sign Gaga should take a break from the insanity before one of her bones actually breaks. It’s getting a little old anyway,” E! goes on to say, also noting that, when it comes to fashion and accessorizing, she’s been kind of pushing her luck with her choices.
As also noted above, though this type of incident would be enough to make any woman burst either into tears of frustration or peals of laughter, Gaga maintains her composure and hardly blinks when she goes down or, seconds later, when she’s helped up from the ground. Then again, it’s not for nothing that she says being Lady Gaga is a tough job – but someone’s still got to do it.
