Lady Gaga might be one of the most controversial singers in the industry out there today, but it turns out the she too has feelings, and those feelings can get hurt. Gaga opens up about some of the issues that caused her to take a short break from the public life in the latest issue of Harper's Bazaar.

“I became very depressed at the end of 2013. I was exhausted fighting people off. I couldn't even feel my own heartbeat. I was angry, cynical, and had this deep sadness like an anchor dragging everywhere I go,” said the chameleon-like singer.

She confesses that by the end of the year, she had all the fight knocked out of her, which made her feel weak and insecure, until she decided to pick herself up again and start over.

“But January 1, I woke up, started crying again, and I looked in the mirror and said, ‘I know you don't want to fight. I know you think you can't, but you've done this before. I know it hurts, but you won't survive this depression,’” Gaga told the magazine.

All this heartbreak was caused by the poor performance of her latest album ARTPOP, as well as her famous break-up from longtime producer and manager Troy Carter, just one week before the album was released.

With dwindling fans and dropping sales, it seemed that the proverbial end to Gaga's career was near, but she somehow managed to bounce back.

Now, Gaga is planning a massive tour to support her ARTPOP album, and the news coming in from the upcoming venues is more than promising. All the tickets for her British concerts were sold out in a matter of hours, showing that Gaga still has the power to pack even the biggest stadiums such as London's O2 Arena.
