Called the “shock collaboration” of our times

Known for her extravagant fashion style and fiery performances, Lady Gaga is clearly not the kind of artist that would shun away from a potentially controversial collaboration. After working with the likes of Marilyn Manson, Gaga has now turned her attention to an even more unlikely musical partner, legendary crooner Michael Bolton, Marie Claire informs.

The collaboration on a new track is now official, Bolton himself confirming it for several media outlets just recently. According to his statement, he too was surprised when his agent called him to tell him that an artist known as Lady Gaga, of whom he hadn’t even heard before, wanted to work with him on an upcoming track. The surprise doubled when the agent further told him that this Gaga person was a huge fan of his and, undoubtedly, might have also contributed to his decision to go along with it.

“I was taking a break from production when my manager and the label tag-teamed me on the phone about writing with a young artist named Lady Gaga who I had never heard of – but they were raving about – they said that she was a huge fan of mine and wanted to write with me.” Bolton says, as quoted by the aforementioned magazine. It didn’t take long to convince him to do the song with Gaga, the singer further reveals.

What’s more important, Bolton too is ecstatic about doing the collaboration with Gaga, having now seen with his own eyes that all the hype around her is completely justified. “When I met her in the studio later that night, I realized she was not only about to have a big hit record but Gaga was a superstar about to launch – her energy was so high and her focus excited me. She reminded me of a young Madonna – with more exuberance and emphasis on the art rather than the marketing.” Michael Bolton explains.

Further details of what the media is now calling the “shock collaboration” of our times have not yet been made public. Knowing Gaga, though, fans must know they’re not in for too long a wait, because this seems the kind of secret that he can’t keep for much longer.
