While most of us are mostly familiar solely with the big brands in terms of HD multimedia players, the truth of the matter is that the Chinese electronics market (or gadget-heaven, as some people might call it) is filled with all sorts of devices of this type, some of which are actually capable of delivering certain features and specs even the bigger companies should pay attention to, not to mention some extremely attractive prices. Case in point, while browsing through Etronixmart, we've come across a little (literally) thing called the LENKENG LHD50 Palm HD Media player, that seems to be designed mostly for the owners of “old-school” TVs, that haven't yet made the step forward towards the adoption of LCD panels equipped with HDMI interfaces. And that's because the device in question only packs Composite and Component video outputs, while supporting a maximum 720p resolution, that will certainly feel inadequate when connected to our latest-gen Full HD displays. Since we're on the topic of available connectivity options, we'll also have to point out that this tiny player sports an USB 2.0 port, SD/MMC card reader, plus stereo and SPDIF audio outputs. We were also sort of impressed by the array of supported files, whether we're talking about video (RM, RMVB, MPEG1, DAT, MPG, MPEG. VOB, AVI - including DivX3-6, XviD), audio (MP3,WMA, WAV) or photos (JPEG, BMP, GIF, PNG, TIFF), but this is not exactly a major surprise, since all HD players deliver extensive file support these days. As briefly mentioned before, this thing is also extremely compact, measuring 66 x 66 x 16 inches, which means that carrying it from one location to the next shouldn't be much of a problem for most users out there. Last, but certainly not least, this is one of the most affordable players we've ever come across, since it sells for somewhere in the vicinity of 36 US dollars.
