The Viewty branding seems rather strange for this device

South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics seems to be readying the launch of yet another mobile phone that will sport the Viewty brand, namely the GW300. However, there are some interesting things about it that should be mentioned, including the fact that it should come to the market with a QWERTY keyboard and should be a low-end device, something rather unusual for the Viewty name.

The fact that the handset will come to the market bearing the LG Viewty GW300 name seems to be a certain fact for the time being. According to gsmhelpdesk.nl, the phone has already been spotted “in the windows of French telecom shops,” although no official announcement regarding its launch has been made until now. Moreover, the website also notes that the Netherlands department of LG hasn't provided any info on the handset, which makes its appearance even stranger. However, the GW300 made it into the wild about two months ago, when the company announced it as a feature phone.

Also strange is the fact that the mobile phone maker chose to use a name that was usually associated with high-end touchscreen devices for a lower-end handset. The specs of the upcoming phone include a 2-megapixel photo snapper, which sports video recording capabilities, the full QWERTY keypad, which might prove a great option for texting enthusiasts, and a quite large display that features a QVGA resolution and support for 262.000 colors.

Other specs of the LG Viewty GW300 include a 10MB internal memory, coupled with a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space, and quad-band EDGE connectivity support. Unfortunately, further details on the mobile phone are missing at the moment, though it shouldn't be too long before more info becomes available, especially if LG decides to go official with it. Stay tuned to learn more on the capabilities, pricing and availability of the LG Viewty GW300.
