TV and radio tuner

LG Electronics is offering consumers a new hybrid concept. If up until now the majority of producers have focused towards cramming as many functions as possible into a small device, the best examples are mobile phones, MP3 players or digital cameras, LG Electronics took the concept further and developed the TV-fridge.

The new generation of fridges and household appliances proposes a radical change and want to change the concept of dull, white-dyed appliances which have been around for years.

However, a 13 inch LCD mounted on the refrigerator's door can hardly be called normal; the same can be said about the possibility to connect it to the Internet. Actually, the refrigerator works as a server by controlling all LG household appliances installed in the house (well, not all of them, only hi-tech ones). Coming back to the LCD of the fridge, the device offers viewing angles of 120 degrees and also includes a radio tuner. The TV is fitted with a remote control and has input connectors for CATV, DVD or VHS.

LG resorts to the latest refrigerating methods by using silver nano-particles whose task is to eliminate bacteria. The system, called Bio silver, has been approved by several commissions: U.S. FDA, EPA, ISO, and SIAA.
