While Ultrabooks are really a nice alternative for users interested in buying a ultra-thin laptop, there are other notebook models available out there that mange to sport a similar form factor while offering improved performance.

The 13.3-inch LG P330 is one of these notebooks as even if it uses a thin and light brushed aluminum and magnesium casing it still manages to provide users with a fully-fledged standard voltage Intel Core i5 processor.

The CPU in question is the Core i5-2435M that runs at 2.4GHz and includes two processing cores with Hyper-Threading support and this is seconded by a powerful GeForce GT 555M dedicated graphics card.

This is actually the fastest GeForce GT part in Nvidia's arsenal and most certainly one of the most impressive graphics solutions to be included inside a 13.3-inch notebook.

Furthermore, the storage subsystem should also be able to keep up with the system as the P330 includes a 40GB solid state drive and a 640GB HDD with support for Intel's Smart Response technology which can use the low capacity SSD as a fast cache for the HDD.

But these aren't all the innovations that LG brings forth with the P330 as the company has opted to pair this ultra-portable with a high-quality IPS-panel display.

This is certainly a nice change from the regular TN screens that are shipped with most current notebooks, and should be a great option for users who require accurate color reproduction.

According to engadget, the whole LG notebook weights no more than 1.7kg (3.6-pound) and is now available from at least one Korean e-tailer.

Pricing is set at ₩1,364,000, which translates into about $1,221 US or 886 EUR, so this is actually more expensive than most Ultrabook designs but it has the advantage of coming with a faster CPU, dedicated graphics as well as with an IPS display.
