The 3D craze has been bubbling for quite a few months now, and NVIDIA recently proclaimed its support for this display mode by adding 3D Vision Surround support to its GTX 400 Series of graphics cards. Nevertheless, in the end, it is the monitors themselves that decide whether or not such a display mode can be used. Fortunately, display makers are quite eager to meet the growing demand for such devices, and LG just finished unleashing one of its latest models.

The newcomer goes by the name of W63D, has a screen size of 23 inches and overall specification that place it in the upper half of the display solutions market. Its 'base' capabilities include a response time of 5 ms, a dynamic contrast ratio of 70,000:1 and a fairly impressive maximum brightness of 400 cd/m2. There is also the Auto brightness Control function, which reduces eye strain.

LG decided it would throw in a special feature, known as the G-mode. This feature is described as something that provides “an ideal user environment that enhance your game experience.” One thing it enables is a better response time, of 3 ms to be exact. But, most importantly, the product promises to handle real-time 2D to 3D conversion by means of the NVIDIA 3D Vision technology. As for the display quality itself, the native resolution is of 1920 x 1080 pixels and the 1.9 crosstalk maintains a stable refresh rate while enabling a rapid image transition.

The LG W63D can be seen in detail on the official product page that its maker added to its website. It has already started shipping, priced at 330 Euro. Naturally, consumers can easily switch between 3D and 2D whenever they wish. Finally, as an added bonus, end-users can enjoy the benefits of Aspect Ratio Control (in 2D mode only). This feature displays 4:3 and 5.9 contents on 16:9 wide screens without distortion.
