Even though most consumers are eagerly awaiting the start of Computex, at the beginning of June, other conventions and expos are going on as usual. In fact, one of them has already kicked off in Seattle, Washington, and has the players of the display industry showing off their greatest achievements so far.

LG, of course, is not bound to miss an occasion to flaunt its technologies in front of the public, which is why it has decided to begin in force, with the unveiling of a beast of gigantic proportions.

The new TV that LG came up with claims to be the world's biggest of its kind. Granted, at 84 inches in diagonal, there may be little to no exaggeration within that statement. It is the actual ‘kind,’ however, that truly makes the monster an awe-inspiring presence. The 84 incher merges two top-tier capabilities to the point where it makes Full HD 1080p resolutions look insignificant.

One of the main assets of the TV is its UHD (Ultra-high definition) resolution of no less than 3,840 x 2,160 pixels. This specification is quite pertinent, considering that 1080p resolution is not sharp enough for such a large format. What is more interesting is that LG successfully enabled this resolution while also providing 3D. Indeed, the set is actually an immense 3DTV. One can only imagine how high a bank account is required to purchase this product.

In addition to this 84 incher, LG's collection features a variety of other display solutions, among them a 47-inch IPS HDTV that also provides 3D, though it does not rely on glasses. The panel achieves this through a so-called ‘liquid lens,’ but no other information is available. LG also brought along a 9.7-inch smartbook, a 32-inch pro monitor, flexible e-paper and a color e-paper set to enter mass production by year's end.
