Having already unveiled it back in June, LG Electronics brought forth the Xnote P220 ultrathin, a small machine that, unfortunately, has not been described in full, despite being supposedly ready for availability.

For a product to be unveiled months before its actual market availability is part for the course on the IT market.

As such, back when LG revealed the Xnote P220, in June, 2011 (about two months ago), it did not come as a shock that barely any information on the hardware was made available.

Now, LG has announced that availability is finally close to being attained, but prospective buyers may have to live with some disappointment.

While previous track record had suggested that the full list of specifications and pricing would finally be disclosed, this did not happen.

Fortunately, LG did not leave its customers completely in the dark, having at least given a vague outline of the ins and outs.

For instance, it is known that an Intel Core i5 CPU (central processing unit) lies at the heart of the configuration, equipped with the integrated HD 3000 graphics.

The company also let it be known that the size of the LED-backlit IPS LCD (liquid crystal display) is 12.5 inches (the resolution was kept, much like everything else, under tight wraps).

Another detail that has been uncovered, though not easily, is the presence of a solid state drive (SSD) with a capacity of 128 GB.

Other specifications, some of which can be guessed at from the photos provided, include HDMI (streams video to an auxiliary monitor or HDTV), USB (even a dedicated charging port) and a bezel width of 9.5 mm, plus maximum thickness of 20.9 mm (weight if 1.3 kilograms).

Hopefully, it will not be too long before exact pricing and availability details are handed out, especially with the back-to-school season underway.
