14 DAY TRIAL // LG has brought the WebOS back from the dead at CES 2014, bundling the resuscitated software into its new smart TV. What’s more, LG apparently really wants to make a big thing out of WebOS, a platform originally designed for tablets and smartphones by Palm.
By the end of 2014, LG wants to implement the WebOS in up to 70% of its TVs. And that’s not all. In a recent interview done by Nutech, LG representative, Samuel Chang claims the company plans to go even further and implement the system into tablets and smartphones, as well.
He goes as far as to state that all devices that connect to the Internet are being taken into account, as possible candidates.
LG bought WebOS from HP, which in turn, acquired it from Palm in 2010, just to let it die, a short while after. According to LG, HP wasn't successful with the software due to its own hardware issues and not because WebOS was faulty.
