Previously slated for an October release, the LG Vu 3 has just been announced in South Korea. The smartphone will go on sale on September 27 for a price that will be unveiled closer to launch.

According to fonearena, the Vu 3 will be available in South Korea through all three major carriers, SK Telecom (SKT), Korea Telecom (KT) and LG U+.

Although LG Vu 3 sports a slightly larger display than that of its predecessor, it has the same size. This means the handset maker has managed to shorten the length of the bezel by at least 0.2-inches, so it can keep the same size as LG Vu II.

Speaking of which, LG Vu 3 has been confirmed to pack a 5.2-inch HD IPS capacitive touchscreen display that supports 1280 x 960 pixels resolution and 4:3 ratio.

On the inside, LG’s high-end smartphone comes equipped with a 2.26 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, which is complemented by an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.

No word on the amount of storage yet, but LG has announced that the Vu 3 boasts an impressive 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash, autofocus and full HD (1080p) video recording. There’s also a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.

Connectivity-wise, the Vu 3 is an all-rounder, as it offers LTE-Advanced and TDMB support (specific to Korea), 4G LTE, HSPA+ (42Mbps), WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP and GPS with aGPS.

LG Vu 3 ships with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box and a Rubberdium stylus pen, which provides access to Notebook features included in the smartphone.

It also packs Knock On feature that allows users to wake up their phones from sleep by double tapping on the screen. Guest mode and Pop & Plug earphones come with the phone as well.
