The DAP is to be marketed pretty soon, probably before X-Mas

The Holidays are to almost here, therefore giant electronics companies need to make a stand in good old X-mas spirit! LG has recently released a brand new USB DAP MP3 player, which seems to target all audience.

So, this is UP3, LG's latest DAP. The name itself could be considered a hint about the player's dual functionality, of being both an MP3 player and an USB drive device. Even though most of the MP3 players on the market can already do this, LG has lost this feature a while ago.

The new design concept allows recharging, using both integrated rechargeable battery and the USB port connectivity. What really annoys me is their rough shape, uncomfortable to look at, not to mention placing in the jeans pocket. The color range they chose is also a pretty damn commercial one, a cheap flavor and nothing special at all.

What's really interesting about this new line of devices is their stylish all-metal design, which was also used when developing the FM37 touch-screen media player. UP3 comes packed in various storage capacities of 1GB, 2GB and 4GB and with some extra options like the common Fm tuner, voice recorder and the FM radio recording feature, which is great for storing parts of your favorite radio show for later listening.

Regarding their capabilities, these devices can deal with a lot of file formats on the market, such as MP3, WMA and OGG for the audio content and ASF for the video support. It's a pity they added such a tiny screen display, but at least it's an OLED and it supports about 65.000 colors.

However, if you're an LG fan, and you're interested in getting yourself the latest DAP MP3 player, you should also know the 4GB music device retails at online web stores, for about 92 bucks, starting soon.
