LG intends to soon show off its progress in the NANO Lighting Technology so it will take advantage of this year's IFA show in Berlin to demonstrate a 3D TV that is less than a centimeter in thickness and yet very high on the scale of performance and image quality.

The super-thin FULL LED TV goes by the name of LEX8 and employs the aforementioned NANO Lighting Technology.

This technology, according to the display maker, produces the clearest, smoothest and brightest pictures of all of LG's solutions.

For one, the LEX8 can perform localized dimming, in both 2D and 3D display modes, thanks to the Micro Pixel Control, which manipulates individual LED blocks and “ adds even greater range and life to colors.”

The TV also features what its maker calls Infinite Contrast Ratio and the TruMotion 400Hz, which removes blur thanks to the very fast moving image processing rate.

Basically, this is one of, if not the best of LG's 3D display and, naturally, has full support for Full HD image quality.

Other important features include DLNA, two 7W speakers, Clear Voice II and a Magic Motion remote control, among other things.

"In creating our first television using nano technology, LG is continuing to set new standards in TV technology and demonstrating once again that we're pushing the envelope of home entertainment," said Simon Kang, President and CEO of LG Home Entertainment Company.

"Just as difficult as it is to watch standard TV after experiencing high definition, people will resist going back to regular LED LCD TVs after viewing the LEX8."

“As LG's picture continues to evolve, so does its innovative INFINIA Design,” states the press release.

“Thanks to NANO Lighting Technology and FULL LED Panel, the LEX8 is still only 0.88cm thick with a bezel just 1.25cm wide, indisputably the slimmest and narrowest of any FULL LED TV in the world.”

The demonstration of the LEX8 FULL LED TV will be done at IFA Berlin, at which point the full list of performance numbers should be made public. The price is, understandably, still a mystery.
