LG has prepared something “big” for this year’s ISE 2012 fair, namely a 165-inch super narrow bezel 3D display which uses the company’s proprietary FPR 3D technology.

Developed by LG, the Film-type Patterned Retarder technology, FPR for short, uses plain-old curved lenses glasses, similar to the ones found in regular glasses, which are much lighter, cheaper and healthier than their active shutter counterparts.

Moving back to the screen presented at the show, this was actually made up of nine 55-inch displays that were installed in a 3x3 configuration to create a rather impressive screen.

It goes without saying that the number and shape of the displays installed can be customized depending on the application, so even larger displays can be created if clients want to.

Sadly, no info regarding pricing was made available by LG, but winning the lottery is definitely required if you want to build such a setup in your home.
