Another Chinese PMP producer is trying to make a stand on the electronics market and even gets its hopes high enough to think it can become an iPod Nano killer. After seeing this, I really think it could actually happen. The new portable media player gets its inspiration from the famous LG Shine mobile communication device.

It's not very light, it's shiny and features a smooth finished casing. It makes me think of one of those cool Zippos I like. Well, I've always believed China is a scary-a*s place and cloning things is just a minor detail about it.

Unfortunately, there is not much info on the new Onda VX888 PMP's specs. All we found is that the PMP comes packed under a metallic casing, features a cool 2.0 inch screen display, flavored with 260K color support and does almost the same stuff as its previous model. Regarding the VX888 player's capabilities, it can do a bunch of stuff, such as dealing with the most common files formats on the market. I still don't know why the specs list is being secretly kept by Onda itself.

Onda is responsible for other unexpectedly nice-looking PMPs such as VX838. The former player features a smaller screen display, 1GB of memory and a Rockchip Wolfson8987 audio frequency CMOS chip, an elegant touch screen and capabilities for lots of formats, as well as e-book txt files.

All in all, the best thing about the Onda VX888 is its resistant mirrored casing, so fashionable these days. So, even if its capabilities are not going to make some people jealous, its design is surely going to create some stir among giant fish in the industry.

I don't see any pricing and availability details on it, hope to get them soon. Well?not so much of an iPod killer...
