Not so long ago, mobile phone manufacturer LG had sent an letter to all the Hong Kong based mobile retailers aiming to stop them from selling fake Shine phones.

Surprisingly, this worked out much better for LG than it did for Nokia, and the shops either removed the mobile phones really fast, or hadn't even started selling them.

The cloning of a phone isn't something new, with most of Nokia's more popular devices having been cloned and available for sale at one point in time.

So, in the case of the Shine, the question wasn't if a Chinese company would produce a clone, but when. It was also to be expected that when such a phone would appear, LG would make a fuss about it. Now photos of the phone causing all of the fuss have surfaced.

This phone is apparently dubbed 'Diamond KG70 Shine' and looks exactly like LG's slider, just as sleek and stylish and with the same for factor. Its features aren't bad either and the handset packs a 1.3 megapixel camera, 2.2 inch color screen with a QVGA resolution, 64 chords polyphonic ringtones, same size and almost the same weight (3gram difference).

Actually, it even offers something extra, a MicroSD card slot for memory expansion that LG didn't consider including in its product. Aside from the Chinese Shine looking almost the same as the original, LG has another reason to want to stop this phone from getting into shops. While it brings all of the features the Shine brings, it is also available online, for a price tag that's very typical for a clone, $100.
