The Snapdragon 810 has been in the news quite a lot recently, due to reports saying the chip is faced with overheating issues Qualcomm is trying to resolve. But things are not going smoothly, so the new high-end silicone architecture might inevitably arrive late on the market.

A recent report from Bloomberg said that Samsung was so troubled by the prospect of not receiving the Snapdragon 810 on time that it had chosen to go with its Exynos chips for the Galaxy S6 flagship.

But the first two smartphones taking advantage of the Snapdragon 810 have already been officially announced. We’re talking about the LG G Flex 2 and Xiaomi Mi Note Pro, so what will happen to them?

Qualcomm apparently gave assurance that it would manage to deliver the Snapdragon 810 on time for LG and Xiaomi.

Snapdragon 810 does not overheat, says LG

So does that mean the chip maker has managed to find a solution to pesky overheating problems? According to LG’s Vice President of Mobile, Woo Ram-Chan, such issues never really existed in the first place.

At a press event related to the new LG G Flex 2, he explained that the bendy smartphone is actually a handset emitting way less heat than other smartphones currently offered on the market, basically denying all the rumors related to the Snapdragon 810’s overheating woes (as seen at Reuters).

So could it be possible that all the information we've been getting about Qualcomm’s latest and greatest could end being totally fake? It’s a big possibility.

LG unveiled the G Flex 2 at CES 2015. The bendy handset boasts a 5.5-inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and an impressive 13MP rear facing camera (with optical image stabilization) and auto-focus. The device’s life cycle is sustained by a cool 3,000 mAh battery.

Expect the LG G Flex 2 to go on sale internationally soon.
