At CES 2011, mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless has unveiled its lineup of LTE-capable devices that should land on its airwaves during the ongoing year, and announced the launched of LG Revolution, the first 4G LTE smartphone from LG.

According to the wireless carrier, the new mobile phone should offer high-speed 4G LTE (Long Term Evolution) connectivity so that users get what they want faster. The new device comes with HD support for streaming, playing and recording video multimedia, while offering a great viewing experience on the large 4.3-inch touchscreen display it has been packed with.

Running under Google's Android 2.2 Froyo operating system, LG Revolution offers support for Google Mobile Services, including Gmail, YouTube, Google Talk, Google Voice and access to Android Market.

“LG Revolution combines the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Mobile Broadband network with the power of Android 2.2 to deliver a blazingly fast experience,” said Marni Walden, vice president and chief marketing officer for Verizon Wireless.

“The introduction of the first 4G LTE smartphone from LG is a positive addition to our robust lineup of powerful smartphones.”

The specifications list of this device also includes Wi-Fi capabilities, Mobile Hotspot features, with support for up to 8 Wi-Fi devices, DLNA, HDMI and DIVX functionality, video telephony support with front-facing camera, and a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the aback with video recording capabilities.

Moreover, the new device comes with Bluetooth 3.0 capabilities, as well as with 16GB of internal memory, complemented by a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

The handset would connect to Verizon's 4G LTE Mobile Broadband network, which was launched in December 2010, and which can offer speeds up to 10 times faster than those available on the carrier's older 3G network.

“Being an innovation and technology leader has always been a top priority for LG and we are thrilled to unveil a new level of smartphone capabilities and features,” said Tim O’Brien, vice president of marketing for LG Mobile.

“LG Revolution marks the beginning of new technologies and products that will complement on-the-go consumers looking for high-speed connectivity in one compact device.”
