Coming to say its piece on the 3D market, LG has put together the A510, a mobile PC with a 3D panel of 15.6 inches and powered by an Intel central processing unit, paired with one of NVIDIA's latest discrete graphics cards. The Calpella CPU that lies at the heart of the configuration is an Intel Core i7, the exact options being the Core i7 840QM or 740QM quad-core models.

Whichever CPU is selected is backed up by DDR3 memory and paired with the NVIDIA GeForce GT 425M graphics card.

This discrete card has 1 GB of dedicated memory and can not only handle any and all multimedia files, but also supports DirectX 11.

The machine also features the obligatory 3D-ready 15.6-inch screen with what LG calls a “near Full HD resolution.”

What's more, the product boasts a Blu-ray drive, an HDMi output, the SRS TruSurround HD audio technology and is, of course, bundled with a pair of 3D glasses, polarized in this case.

Finally, LG has pre-loaded the A510 with the TriDef software, which can directly convert 2D content into 3D.

"3D is increasingly becoming a common part of the home entertainment landscape so it's against this backdrop that we're working to make this technology better and more accessible for consumers," said Dr. Skott Ahn, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

"As more and more people consume content and interact via portable screens, we think this is a natural next step for business travelers, college students and small office/home office owners,” he added.

“And we put the entire package in a beautifully-designed chassis because we don't think high-tech has to be a dull grey pizza box," Ahn went on to saying.

Set to be sold in blue-black and champagne gold color options, the LG A510 will start shipping next month in Asia, the middle East, Africa and South America.

Unfortunately, pricing details are not known at this time.
