Mobile manufacturer LG and Prada Group have announced that they are going to release a second handset before the end of this year.

The first phone designed by the two companies, LG KE850 Prada, was a stylish touchscreen phone that delivered users a 256K color, 240 x 400 pixel, 3.0-inch display, a 2 MP 1600 x 1200 pixel 30fps camera with flash and video-recording capabilities, MP3 player, FM radio, document viewer and 256 MB of internal memory along with a microSD card that supports up to 2GB. As far as connectivity is concerned, it had Bluetooth 2.0 and USB 2.0.

The second handset, scheduled to come out this year, is almost identical to the first LG Prada, the difference being the added ultra-thin full QWERTY keyboard that slides from underneath the handset. The phone is designed to be shiny and flashy, thus the keyboard has a metallic feel to it, while also being aimed at giving a pleasant typing experience to users.

Other features include 3G compatibility with video calling, full HTML browser, 7.2Mbps HSDPA, a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, flash and video capabilities, and with Schneider-Kreuznach lens that can take pictures at a resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels. The phone also has an incorporated photo/video editor program, so that users can have fun with the vids and pics they take. Let's not forget to include here Wi-Fi accessibility, along with the MP3 player, MPEG-4 player and the FM radio.

The phone is expected to hit Italy, UK, France, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands in the forth quarter of 2008. If for the first LG Prada phone, users had to pay about 400 US dollars, the price for this shiny second one will be double, about 810 US dollars (or 600 Euros). Nevertheless, for a Prada fan, this shouldn't be too much, especially since the phone does pack a few goodies.
