It’s been more than a month since LG Optimus Net Dual has been introduced in India, but the smartphone was only available for pre-order until recently.

The folks over at AndroidOS have just learned that the handset is now available for purchase from various leading retailers across the country.

For example, Flipkart is offering the Optimus Net Dual for Rs 10,990 (220 USD or 170 EUR), while Letsbuy has priced the smartphone a bit cheaper at Rs 10,499 (210 USD or 160 EUR).

LG Optimus Net and its dual-SIM twin brother were announced in Q3 2011, but made to the market only recently. The smartphones have similar features but only the Optimus Net Dual comes with dual-SIM capability.

Powered by Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread operating system, LG Optimus Net Dual will probably continue to receive minor updates, but it’s highly unlikely to see this one receiving an official Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade.

However, the phone’s main attraction is the dual-SIM option, which is a required feature in India where mobile phone users try to reduce the number of device they need to carry around.

Last but not least, the Optimus Net Dual is delivered with a free 2GB microSD memory card in the sale package. In addition, the smartphone packs 150MB onboard memory, 512 MB of RAM and microSD card for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

The phone is equipped with a low-performance 800 MHz single core processor, which is complemented by an Adreno 200 graphics processing unit. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support is available as well, along with HSDPA and high speed microUSB.

The Optimus Net Dual has a decent 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen with 320 x 480 pixels resolution and support for 262k colors.

The phone’s large capacity 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery is rated by the manufacturer for up to 330 hours of standby time or up to 5 hours of talk time.
