The old LG Optimus 3D has just gotten a price cut in India. Initially priced at Rs 39,999 (750 USD or 580 EUR) off-contract, the smartphone is now on sale for only Rs 19,999 (375 USD or 290 EUR).

Indian retailer The MobileStore has kicked on a promotional offer on the LG Optimus 3D, which is only available online.

However, the smartphone is currently available at multiple leading retailers across the country for around Rs 28,500 (535 USD or 410 EUR) outright.

Unfortunately, the price is still high for such an old device, which has yet to receive its Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Although LG confirmed it would deploy a Gingerbread update for the Optimus 3D, not all regions got it.

Not to mention that the Optimus 3D will probably never get an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade in the future. Hardware-wise, the Optimus 3D configuration is a bit obsolete for a high-end device, though it performs well enough as a mid-range smartphone.

The phone is equipped with a dual-core TI OMAP 4430 processor clocked at 1 GHz, which is complemented by a PowerVR SGX540 graphics processing unit and only 512 MB of RAM.

Although the device only packs 8GB of internal memory, the phone’s storage amount can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card.

Nevertheless, the handset’s main selling point is the 3D LCD capacitive touchscreen display, which supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass coating.

LG Optimus 3D comes packed with a range of connectivity options, such as Wi-Fi, HSDPA and HSUPA, DLNA, Bluetooth 2.1 and HDMI port.

The phone comes with dual 5-megapixel cameras, which feature autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording. Last but not least, the Optimus 3D’s 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery should provide up to 450 hours of standby time or up to 13 hours of talk time (9 hours in 3G mode).
