Unveiled one week ahead of World Mobile Congress (MWC) trade fair, LG L70 is an affordable Android smartphone that is about to make its debut in the United States.

The smartphone is already available for purchase in China and several European countries for prices between $170 (€125) and $250 (€180) outright.

It appears that at least one US-based carrier plans on offering the LG L70 as well. According to @evleaks, the smartphone will be available for purchase via MetroPCS.

The first press render of the LG L70 carrying MetroPCS’ logo has just leaked online, but no details on the phone’s price tag and exact release date have been unveiled yet.

However, we suspect that the smartphone will be coming at the carrier in the next couple of weeks for under $200 (€145) off contract. Keep in mind though that these are just some speculations that have yet to be confirmed by LG and MetroPCS.

This is the second L Series smartphone that is expected to arrive in the United States in the coming weeks after LG L90 has been tipped for T-Mobile. Given the fact that T-Mobile is rumored to launch the L90 on April 23, we suspect that MetroPCS will be adding the L70 to its portfolio around the same timeframe.

Although both L Series smartphones come with Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system out of the box, the L90 is equipped with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, whereas the L70 packs a slightly lower 1.2GHz dual-core CPU.

For those unfamiliar with LG L70’s specs and features, here is a quick recap. As mentioned earlier, it ships with the latest version of Google’s mobile platform, Android 4.4.2 KitKat, along with LG UI 3.0 running on top of the operating system.

Hardware-wise, the L70 is equipped with a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, an Adreno 302 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM. It also packs 4GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

On the back, the mid-range smartphone features a 5-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, while in the front, there’s a secondary VGA camera.

Another decent feature is the large 4.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports WVGA (480 x 800) pixels resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating for extra protection.

LG L70 does not come with LTE support, but offers HSDPA (21Mbps) and HSUPA (5.76MBps), along with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC (Near Field Communication).
