LG has just presented their KC1 smartphone in Korea along with a promise for a close release. The device has been announced for some time now, but the company has yet to make it available for purchase on the market.

LG has taken its time with the release of the KC1, probably too long, as some of its performances have become outdated. The device runs on Windows Mobile 5, a version which very few newly launched smartphones choose to use. Aside from this feature, the handset manages to pack several other capabilities which might even compensate for this one.

The 2.8 inch QVGA touchscreen on the LG-KC1 is big enough to make navigation through the phone's menu quite enjoyable. The feature keeps up with the current demands of handset users, as touch sensitive displays have become quite popular lately.

The device also has a 2 megapixel camera included, enough for taking captures at an average quality. The 512MB of internal memory might prove to be less than enough, which makes the additional microSD card slot quite welcome for this handset's user. Images and personal data will surely have enough space for storing, as many as they may be.

Probably the most important feature about LG-KC1 is that it also brings Mobile Wimax to its owner. Such a connection was mandatory for making the phone live up to the demands of the market. People now need fast data transfer speeds and reliable connectivity. Other specifications for the handset also include Bluetooth performances and DMB functionality, as to make the package completely appealing.

LG-KC1 is now available in South Korea for a price yet undisclosed. There is also the chance of another version of this smartphone to be released in the future in other parts of the world, although the producer has made no official statement of this happening.
