Priced at $99.99 on contract

Ever since Redmond-based software giant Microsoft delivered to the market the latest flavor of its mobile operating system, namely Windows Mobile 6.5, we were able to see very appealing handsets being launched with the platform on board. Among these devices, we can also count the LG IQ (GW825), now available for purchase in Canada from wireless carrier Telus.

Available only from TELUS,” the carrier notes on its website.

The new device is indeed poised to offer a wide range of capabilities to Canadian mobile phone users, including Microsoft Exchange support, access to the Windows Marketplace for Mobile application store or to the My Phone backup service from Microsoft, not to mention a great Internet navigation experience via the phone's HTML browser.

The LG IQ comes to the market with a 3.2-inch touchscreen display that boasts a 480 x 800 pixel resolution, Bluetooth connectivity, Wi-Fi capabilities, Speakerphone, a QWERTY keyboard, support for 3G HSPA 850/1900, Music player, a 5-megapixel photo snapper, GPS receiver, LG's S-Class User Interface, and a MicroSD memory card slot which should offer support for 16GB memory cards, all within a device that measures 113 x 55 x 15.9 mm and weighs 150 grams.

The mobile phone carrier also touts the availability of a series of services with the handset, including TELUS mobile TV, TELUS Navigator, TELUS mobile radio and mobile music, as well as email, IM, MMS, SMS and video messaging. The new LG IQ is available for purchase from Telus for $99.99 upon the signing of a three-year contract agreement, but can be also purchased with a two-year or one-year contract, priced at $399.99 and $449.99, respectively. With no contract, the phone costs $499.99.
