The LG G4 will soon make a debut in the wild

The rumor mill has been saying LG is hard at work prepping a new G4 flagship device, which will be radically different from the current G3.

The Korean company is aware that most top-tier devices available on the market today come packed with a similar set of specifications (octa-core processor, 2K displays, a minimum of 3G of RAM, and so on).

So LG is looking to differentiate itself from the crowd with its next flagship. At some point, we even speculated that LG was planning to produce a dual-edged display device in the vein of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, but no confirmation of this has emerged so far.

Even if the LG G4 is shrouded in mystery for the time being, a report coming out of Korea Times claims the company is confident the device will sell pretty well.

With the current flagship, the Korean device maker achieved quite a bit of success, having shipped around 6 to 7 million devices.

LG is already setting goals for the G4

Taking these figures into consideration, LG expects to sell at least 10 million G4 handsets throughout 2015. The official announcement is expected to take place sometime in mid-April.

To support the new product, the Korean tech giant is expected to launch a major promotional campaign in key markets in Europe, US and Korea. Interestingly enough, LG does not intent to unleash the same campaign in China.

Recent rumors have showed us that the LG G4 could arrive with a fingerprint scanner located on the back. On top of that, whispers are indicating that the company might want to make the G4 more premium, by opting for a metal body instead of a polycarbonate one.

In recent days, we’ve seen the Sprint version of the G4 pop up in a UA profile running Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. The handset was listed as sporting a Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixel) resolution like the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.

The model is also expected to bundle a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM and 16/32GB of internal storage.
