Announced a few weeks back, the LG Optimus Net has a QWERTY-equipped sibling in the States, which goes by a different name, LG Gelato Q.

It appears that the Korean handset manufacturer decided to go with different names for this mid-budget Android smartphone, which is clearly confusing for consumers.

The original Optimus Net is expected to be released by either T-Mobile USA or AT&T in early September, as LG Gelato.

However, the QWERTY-equipped version of the Optimus Net has just emerged under a different moniker, LG Gelato Q.

The 'Q' letter that differentiates the names of the two models may come from 'QWERTY', which leads us to believe that LG plans to launch the Gelato Q at multiple carriers in North America.

The latest hearsay points to a possible release of the Gelato Q at Verizon, but again, under a different name – LG Enlighten.

All in all, the LG Enlighten aka LG Gelato Q, is expected to be released by Verizon on August 25, but no confirmation has been received yet.

LG Enlighten is a mid-entry smartphone that runs Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread and is powered by an 800 Mhz single core processor.

Aside from its ergonomic slide-out QWERTY keyboard, the Enlighten features a 3.2-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen with 262k colors support and 320 x 480 pixels resolution.

Furthermore, the phone sports a mediocre 3.2-megapixel camera with autofocus and video recording capabilities.

Although it only packs 150MB of internal memory, LG Enlighten comes with microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 2GB memory card included).

The Enlighten offers users a full array of connectivity options, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP support, 3G Mobile Hotspot, as well as GPS with A-GPS support.

According to LG, the Enlighten 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery should provide up to 6 hours of talk time.
