LG’s flagships, the G2 and this year’s G3, have been getting some fair share of attention. In recent days, we also told you the G2 was expected to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update and that’s pretty good news.

Now the rumor mill is whispering that come 2015, LG will be ready to roll out its next-generation flagship and it makes sense to hypothesize the product will be called the G4.

LG's G4 will come with a stylus? It might as well be the case

And by the looks of it, we’re going to be dealing with Samsung Galaxy Note 4 competitor. LG’s upcoming handset is expected to feature high-end features and most importantly take advantage of a stylus.

The Asian website It Home managed to dig up the preliminary specifications of the handset (as seen at GSM Dome). So according to them, the G4 will mostly be part of the phablet realm, coming with a 5.3-inch display.

The smartphone will boast advanced QHD resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels) and will rely on a new Snapdragon 810 64-bit processor fitted with 4GB of RAM and either 32GB / 64GB of internal storage.

Last but not least, the G4 is expected to come equipped with a 20.7MP camera on the back and bundle a capable 3500 mAh battery to keep things alive onboard.

The machine will naturally be powered by Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.

LG's "G Pen" patent was discovered earlier this month

A while ago, LG was spotted filing a trademark with the USPTO for a so-called “LG G Pen” technology. Most likely, the G Pen system is what we’re going to see the G4 arrive with.

The company already tested out the stylus/smartphone combo with the LG G3 Stylus spin-off, although consumers weren't too taken with the idea. That’s probably because this particular variation came with mid-range specs, but that won’t be the case with the G4.

Anyway, the Asian report also mentions a device going by the name of LG Scrawl which is also supposed to take advantage of the same G Pen software, although we’re not exactly sure what that is for the time being.

The report concludes that LG is most likely to unveil the device at MWC 2015 in Barcelona, which usually takes place in February.
