LG G3, the upcoming flagship handset from the South Korean mobile phone maker, has made it to the headlines quite a few times in the past several weeks, as everyone is waiting to see what LG will have to unveil on it on May 27.

Before the official announcement, however, some more info on what the phone might include in terms of hardware has emerged online, suggesting that it might be powered by a Snapdragon 805 processor in the end.

Previously, the handset was said to feature a Snapdragon 801 CPU inside, the same as flagship smartphones from HTC, Samsung and Sony do at the moment, but it seems that this won’t be the case.

According to a recent report coming from TechManiacs.gr, the LG G3 will actually swap the existing processor for a newer, more powerful one.

As PhoneArena notes, Qualcomm has already confirmed that the Snapdragon 805 processor will be released in May, and the LG G3 appears to be one of the first devices to include it.

The rest of the phone’s newly unveiled specs fall in line with what was rumored about it before, starting with the 5.5-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a Quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) resolution.

Moreover, the phone is also said to include 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot for storage expansion purposes.

LG G3 should also feature a 13-megapixel camera on the back, with Sony IMX124 Exmor RS sensor and an f/2.0 aperture, which should provide users with great imaging performance even in low-light conditions. It will also sport OIS+ (Optical Image Stabilization) capabilities.

The upcoming mobile phone will be powered by a 3200mAh battery, which should result in pretty decent usage times. Moreover, it is expected to run under the latest flavor of the Android operating system out of the box.

No official confirmation on any of these has been provided as of now, but the phone has been spotted in leaked User Agent Profiles with similar capabilities included, and chances are that all will pan out in the end.

Apparently, LG G3 will also feature a polycarbonate body. However, a recently leaked photo coming from @evleaks has shown a brushed metal finish for the phone's back cover, one that will no longer attract fingerprints.

One way or the other, we’ll actually have to wait for May 27 to learn more on the device itself, as well as details on its availability and pricing. Provided, of course, that LG doesn’t decide to share additional info on the phone before the official release, as it has happened with other devices in its portfolio.
