LG fans will be pleased to know that the South Korean handset maker plans to launch another Android smartphone in the next couple of months. After introducing the LG G3, its new flagship smartphone, and the LG G3 Beat, the company is expected to also release the yet unannounced LG G3 Stylus.

The smartphone appeared for the first time in a video promo for the LG G3 Beat, alongside the LG G3, but no additional details on its specs were included in the ad.

However, it looks like most of the important information on the phone’s specs has just leaked online from multiple sources. Moreover, KoreaTimes reports that LG Electronics said on Wednesday that it would launch the G3 Stylus smartphone sometime in Q3 2014.

A source familiar with LG’s smartphone business says, “the Stylus will be the pen-pushing model with a screen size of about 5.5 inches. Overall specifications will be slightly downgraded compared with the G3, with a different battery size and screen resolution.”

Even though the cited source did not want to share additional details on the LG G3 Stylus’ specs, we’ve been able to learn more from a user agent profile on LG’s website.

LG G3 Stylus seemed a high-end device at first glance, but it looks like this is in fact a budget-friendly smartphone meant to boost LG’s presence on this segment of the market.

Nonetheless, the handset still has some nice features that Android fans may enjoy. For example, the smartphone will come packed with a stylus, which will definitely come in handy given the fact that LG G3 Stylus sports a large 5.7-inch display.

Speaking of which, the phone’s huge display supports 720p resolution, so it’s clearly inferior to that of LG’s flagship smartphone, the G3.

On the back, the G3 Stylus packs an enhanced 8-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while on the front there’s a secondary 1.3-megapixel camera for video calls.

LG G3 Stylus is said to be equipped with a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory. A microSD card slot for storage expansion is likely to be included as well.

Connectivity-wise, the G3 Stylus will definitely offer 4G LTE support, as well as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS with A-GPS support and microUSB.

Last but not least, the mid-range smartphone will be powered by the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system right out of the box. There’s a high chance that the LG G3 Stylus will be unveiled at IFA 2014 early next month, so stay tuned for more updates on this one.
