South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics appears set to make its next flagship Android-based smartphone official before the end of the next month, as the company has already announced a press event for May 27, yet we still don’t know exactly what the phone will look like.

However, courtesy of photos available via a case maker, we can now make an idea of what the device might have to offer in terms of outer design, when launched next month.

The handset can be seen in said images with a protective case wrapped around its body, so the exact looks it will employ remain hidden from our eyes.

However, we can still see the back-mounted power and volume buttons that have been spotted in a leaked image late last week, as well as a thin bezel around the phone’s screen.

The phone will also sport a new sensor on the back, something that has been already rumored to happen, and which has been confirmed once again in said photos. No info on what this sensor might be has been provided as of now.

What users will also see in the new images available with the device is that the power button on its back resembles a lot the signature button on Sony’s latest Xperia handsets.

LG G3 is rumored to arrive on shelves with a 5.5-inch touchscreen capable of delivering a 2K resolution, as well as with a Snapdragon 801 CPU inside, and a 3000mAh battery.

Moreover, the high-end handset is also said to arrive on the market with a 13- or 16-megapixel camera with Optical Image Stabilization, most probably capable of recording videos in 4K resolution.

Running under Android 4.4.2 KitKat, LG G3 will also sport LG’s own Optimus UI loaded on top, and the newly spotted images with the device appear to confirm that once again.

According to a recent article on UnwiredView, the smartphone has already entered production, and LG is determined to sell over 10 million units of this device.

What remains to be seen is whether LG will indeed manage to bring this ambitious plan to fruition. For that, it will certainly need to make the phone available in a great deal of markets at launch or soon after, something that it did not manage to do with other devices in its lineup.

Nothing is official on this as of now, and we’ll take the info with a grain of salt, though LG might be able to achieve this goal, so stay tuned for more on the matter.
