LG G3, the latest flagship Android-based handset from the South Korean mobile phone maker, is set to make an official appearance on shelves at Verizon Wireless in the not-too-distant future, and the device has already received the necessary approvals from the FCC.

The handset has been spotted at the feds with model number LG-VS985 attached to it, but almost no new details on the device itself have been provided in the official listing there.

The smartphone has been already launched, but it still remains to be seen when exactly Verizon will add it to its offering, and at what price tag.

At the FCC, LG G3 for Verizon has emerged with support for the wireless carrier’s LTE bands 4 and 13, as well as with roaming capabilities on GSM bands 850 and 1900 bands, as droid-life notes.

At the same time, the listing mentions that a special cover for wireless charging has also been tested for the device, though we suspect that the standard cover for the handset will not include such capabilities.

Most probably, users interested in being able to charge their Verizon LG G3 wirelessly will need to buy a separate QuickCircle case or official wireless charging back plate, since the phone was said earlier this year to land in the US without the feature enabled by default.

The rest of the phone’s specifications remain unchanged from what LG officially unveiled last week, starting with the 5.5-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a Quad HD resolution.

The handset is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, complemented by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot (a model with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage was also announced).

Moreover, it arrives on shelves with a 13-megapixel camera on the back, capable of recording videos in 2160p resolution. A 2.1MP camera was also included on the device’s front, for making video calls while on the go.

The specs list of LG G3 also hints at a Li-Ion 3000mAh battery, the usual set of connectivity capabilities (Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, and NFC), built-in GPS receiver, and the entire set of common sensors.

The smartphone runs under the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system but also sports LG’s own Optimus UI loaded on top, featuring a variety of exclusive applications and features.

By the looks of it, it might not be too long before LG and Verizon officially confirm the upcoming availability of the G3 on the carrier’s network, so stay tuned for more on the matter.
