Yesterday LG announced it was making the smallest tablet in its G Pad tablet lineup available in Europe this week, but it did not mention at what rates it would offer the device.

The company remained true to its word and rolled out the tablet in a few countries, including Germany and Netherlands. Although the slate was expected to retail for a more affordable €150 / $203, it turns out LG is aiming higher so it is asking a whopping €199 / $268 euros for the tablet in Germany, reports TabTech.

In Italy, customers are a bit luckier and will have to pay only €179 / $242.

For this money, customers will be awarded a 7-inch tablet with an IPS LCD display capable of delivering 1280 x 800 pixel resolution. Under the hood lies a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor fitted with 1GB of RAM and backed up by 8GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card).

The slate also includes two cameras, a microUSB and Bluetooth 4.0; yet, given the specifications outlined above, the €199 / $268 is pretty high, especially considering the varied offer on the market.

After all, at this point you don’t even have to jump onboard with unknown brands anymore. For example, Acer’s Iconia One 7 or ASUS MeMO Pad lineup offers similar specs but for a better price.
